Neal H. Moritz: Overview

Neal H. Moritz is one of the most successful and prolific American film and television producers in Hollywood history, known for his keen eye for commercial blockbusters and action-packed franchises. Born on June 6, 1959, in Los Angeles, California, Moritz grew up in the entertainment industry and later graduated from the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts. In 1997, he founded the production company Original Film, which quickly became a powerhouse in the industry. Moritz achieved early success producing hit 90s films such as I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997) and Cruel Intentions (1999). However, his most significant achievement is undoubtedly producing the massively successful Fast & Furious franchise, starting with the original film in 2001 and continuing through its numerous billion-dollar sequels. His extensive filmography also includes blockbusters like I Am Legend (2007), 21 Jump Street (2012), and the Sonic the Hedgehog film series. Beyond feature films, Moritz has made a substantial impact in television. He has served as an executive producer on series such as Prison Break and S.W.A.T.
