Seth Rogen: Overview

Seth Rogen is a highly influential Canadian-American actor, comedian, writer, producer, and director who has left a massive mark on modern comedy and genre television. Born on April 15, 1982, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Rogen began his career as a teenage stand-up comedian before being cast in Judd Apatow’s cult classic television series Freaks and Geeks (1999–2000). This collaboration launched a highly successful film career, with Rogen starring in, writing, or producing blockbuster comedies such as The 40-Year-Old Virgin (2005), Knocked Up (2007), Superbad (2007), Pineapple Express (2008), and This Is the End (2013). Known for his distinctive laugh and affable stoner persona, Rogen became one of the defining comedic voices of his generation. However, his career extends far beyond acting. Alongside his childhood friend and creative partner Evan Goldberg, Rogen co-founded the production company Point Grey Pictures. Together, they have produced a string of highly successful and critically acclaimed television series, often adapting subversive comic books. They developed and executive produced the AMC series Preacher (2016–2019) and the hit Amazon Prime animated series Invincible (2021–present). Most notably, Rogen and Goldberg are executive producers on the massive Amazon Prime superhero satire The Boys (2019–present) and its spin-off Gen V.
