Born on 2 September 1956 in Nimmakuru, Andhra Pradesh, he was the son of legendary actor and former Chief Minister N. T. Rama Rao. He appeared in several Telugu films and later entered politics, serving as a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha. He was an influential member of the Telugu Desam Party. Harikrishna passed away on 29 August 2018 following a road accident. He is the father of actors Jr NTR and Kalyan Ram.
