Gopi Sundar C. S. is a highly acclaimed Indian music director, programmer, playback singer, songwriter, and actor who predominantly works in the Malayalam, Telugu, and Tamil film industries. Born on May 30, 1977, in Kochi, Kerala, his early interest in music was nurtured by his father’s recording studio business. He began his career assisting Malayalam composer Ouseppachan and spent years creating nearly 5,000 advertising jingles, establishing a strong foundation in music production. He got his major breakthrough as a film score composer with the 2006 Malayalam film “Notebook.” The massive success of the 2007 film “Big B” catapulted him to fame, revolutionizing background scores in Malayalam cinema. Over his extensive career spanning more than a hundred films, he has delivered chart-topping soundtracks for movies like “Anwar,” “Ustad Hotel,” “Bangalore Days,” “1983,” and “Pulimurugan.” His exceptional talent has been recognized with numerous prestigious accolades, including a National Film Award for Best Background Score for “1983,” a Kerala State Film Award, and multiple Filmfare Awards South. In 2014, he launched his own record label, Gopi Sundar Music Company, to support aspiring musicians, cementing his legacy as a versatile and influential musical powerhouse in South Indian cinema.
