Ashwin Kumar Lakshmikanthan, born on May 7, 1991, in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, is a highly popular Indian actor and model who works predominantly in the Tamil entertainment industry. Before pursuing a career in acting, he completed a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration.

Kumar began his acting journey on television, making his debut in the Star Vijay serial “Office.” He quickly gained a dedicated following by playing lead roles in popular daily soaps such as “Rettai Vaal Kuruvi” (2015) and “Ninaikka Therintha Manamae” (2017). He also starred in the Telugu serial “Raja Rani.” However, his massive breakthrough came in 2021 when he participated as a contestant in the highly successful cooking reality show “Cooku with Comali – Season 2.” His charming persona and on-screen chemistry made him a digital sensation, earning him the title of “Most Desirable Man on Television 2020” by the Chennai Times.

Capitalizing on his immense television and digital popularity, Kumar transitioned to mainstream cinema. He has secured lead roles in feature films such as the romantic comedy “Enna Solla Pogirai” (2022), “Meet Cute,” and “Sembi,” establishing himself as a promising leading man in Tamil cinema.
