Boney Kapoor was born on 11 November 1955 in Chembur, Bombay (now Mumbai) into the Kapoor film family. He is the son of film producer Surinder Kapoor and Nirmal Kapoor and is the brother of actors Anil Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor. He entered film production in the late 1970s and established himself through mainstream commercial projects.
Over several decades Kapoor has produced a wide range of Hindi films, collaborating with well-known directors and leading actors.
