Born on December 22, 1987, in Mumbai to film director Vinod Talwar, she graduated in Economics from St. Xavier’s College. A trained dancer, she spent years learning various forms at Terence Lewis’s dance academy before entering the entertainment industry.

Talwar began her career as a successful model, appearing in numerous television commercials. She made her major acting debut in 2012 with the Malayalam romantic blockbuster Thattathin Marayathu, where her portrayal of Aisha earned her immense popularity and a SIIMA Award for Best Female Debut. She subsequently appeared in successful films like Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde (Telugu) and Bangalore Days (Malayalam).
