Amit Behl: Overview

Amit Behl is a highly respected veteran Indian actor whose career spans over three decades across theatre, television, and film. Armed with degrees in engineering and management, he chose to pursue his passion for acting, studying at Shri Ebrahim Alkazi’s Living Theatre Academy of Drama. He achieved national recognition in 1994 when he debuted in “Shanti,” India’s first daily soap opera, which established him as a household name.

Since then, Behl has built an incredibly prolific career, appearing in over 100 television shows across multiple languages, including Hindi, Marathi, and Punjabi. His notable TV credits include “Swarajyarakshak Sambhaji,” “Buddha,” “Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat,” and “Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki.” In addition to television, he has acted in over 50 feature films, such as “Kyo Kii… Main Jhuth Nahin Bolta” and “1920: Horrors of the Heart,” and has anchored numerous corporate documentaries.

Beyond his extensive acting portfolio, Behl is a fiercely dedicated advocate for the rights and welfare of his fellow artists. Since 2015, he has served as the Senior Joint Secretary of the Cine & TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA). Through his artistic versatility and union leadership, Amit Behl remains a foundational and influential figure in the Indian entertainment industry.
