Ankit Trivedi: Overview

Ankit Trivedi is a renowned Gujarati language poet, writer, columnist, and emcee from Gujarat, India. Born on March 9, 1981, in Ahmedabad, he completed his Bachelor of Commerce from Gujarat University. He emerged as a significant voice in modern Gujarati literature with his debut anthology “Gazal Purvak” in 2006, followed by the highly acclaimed “Geet Purvak.” His diverse literary repertoire also includes essays, plays, and edited poetry journals like “Gazalvishwa.” Trivedi’s exceptional contribution to Gujarati ghazals and literature has been widely recognized with numerous prestigious awards throughout his career. He received the Takhtasinh Parmar Prize and the Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar for “Gazal Purvak,” and the Indian National Theater in Mumbai honored him with the Shayda Award in 2008. Furthermore, he was awarded the Yuva Gaurav Puraskar and the Harindra Dave Memorial Award in 2011. Beyond traditional literature, he has explored cinema by working as a screenwriter for the 2017 Gujarati comedy film “Carry On Kesar.” In recognition of his outstanding literary achievements, Gujarat University awarded him an honorary D.Lit. in 2019. Married to Bhumika Trivedi, he continues to profoundly enrich Gujarati culture through his evocative writing, dynamic public speaking, and continuous engagement with the literary community.
