Jaswinder Bhalla is an iconic Indian actor, comedian, and academician who has left an indelible mark on Punjabi cinema. Born on May 4, 1960, in Doraha, Punjab, he pursued a distinguished academic career, earning a Ph.D. in Agriculture. He served as a Professor and Head of the Department of Extension Education at Punjab Agricultural University until his retirement in 2020. His journey into entertainment began during his university days, performing comedy on All India Radio. In 1988, he achieved a major breakthrough with the release of the “Chhankata” comedy cassette series alongside Bal Mukund Sharma. The series was a massive success, introducing beloved characters like Chacha Chatar Singh and making him a household name across Punjab. Transitioning to films, Bhalla made his acting debut in “Dulla Bhatti” (1998) and gained widespread acclaim for his roles in hit movies such as “Mahaul Theek Hai,” “Jatt & Juliet,” “Daddy Cool Munde Fool,” and the “Carry On Jatta” franchise. His portrayal of Advocate Dhillon, complete with memorable catchphrases, became incredibly popular.
