Barun Sobti: Overview

Barun Sobti was born on August 21, 1984, in Delhi into a Punjabi family. He completed his schooling from St. Michael’s Convent School, Delhi, and graduated from Shaheed Bhagat Singh College. Before acting, Barun worked as a sales manager in a telecom company. He made his television debut in 2009 with Star One’s Shraddha. His breakthrough came in 2011 as the intense Arnav Singh Raizada in Star Plus’s Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?, becoming a household name across India. Barun married his high school sweetheart Pashmeen Manchanda on December 12, 2010. They have two children – daughter Sifat (born 2019) and son Meer (born 2023). Post the massive TV success, Barun transitioned to digital platforms with Tanhaiyan (2013), Asur Seasons 1 & 2 (2020-2023), Kohrra (2023), and Rakshak: India’s Braves (2025). His film credits include Main Aur Mr. Right (2017) and Tu Hai Mera Sunday (2018).
