Max Huang: Overview

Max Huang You-liang, born Julian Maximilian Widjaja on 22 September 1988 in Nuremberg, Germany, is a German-Indonesian-Chinese actor, martial artist, and stunt performer. He began studying Wing Chun at age 11 and later joined the German National Wushu Team, winning gold at the 2009 German National Championships. After studying acting in the United Kingdom, he moved into professional stunt work and became the first German-born member of the Jackie Chan Stunt Team. His stunt and action credits include Police Story 2013, Kingsman: The Secret Service, The Foreigner, Bleeding Steel, Vanguard, and Hidden Strike. Huang reached wider international visibility when he portrayed Kung Lao in Mortal Kombat (2021), introducing him to a large global audience of action and video-game fans. Outside film performance, he has also explored music, releasing the single Flawless Victory.
