Aaditi Pohankar: Overview

Aaditi Pohankar was born on December 31, 1994, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, into a family with rich sporting heritage. Her father Sudhir Pohankar is a former marathon runner and her late mother Shobha Pohankar was a national-level hockey player. This athletic background profoundly influenced her discipline and dedication. Aaditi represented Maharashtra in athletics, winning multiple medals in 100-meter and 200-meter races during her formative years. She pursued her Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Mumbai while simultaneously nurturing her passion for performing arts. Under the mentorship of renowned theater director Satyadev Dubey, she attended acting workshops that shaped her craft. She also trained in Kathak for three years under Guru Nutan Patwardhan at the Avartan School of Kathak. Aaditi made her film debut in 2010 with Dibakar Banerjee’s Love Sex Aur Dhokha. Her breakthrough came with the Marathi action film Lai Bhaari (2014) opposite Riteish Deshmukh. She gained pan-India recognition with her riveting portrayal of undercover cop Bhumika Pardeshi in Netflix’s She (2020-2022) and wrestler Pammi in Prakash Jha’s Aashram (2020-present). Her recent work includes the Netflix thriller Mandala Murders (2025) where she plays Moksha.
