Darshan Kumaar: Overview

Darshan Kumaar (born Darshan Gandas) was born on September 1, 1986, in Kishangarh near Mehrauli, South Delhi. Coming from a middle-class family, he developed an early interest in theatre during his school days. Darshan trained extensively under legendary theatre director Barry John at his acting studio in Mumbai, which became the foundation of his craft. He made his Bollywood debut in 2014 with Mary Kom opposite Priyanka Chopra, portraying her husband Onler Kom, earning widespread critical acclaim. His breakthrough came with the thriller NH10 (2015) where he played the menacing antagonist. Darshan delivered memorable performances as Dalbir Kaur Singh in Sarbjit (2016), Major Sameer in The Family Man (2019-2021), and the controversial role in The Kashmir Files (2022). His filmography includes Toofaan (2021), Dhokha: Round D Corner (2022), and Kaagaz 2 (2024). Known for choosing challenging, layered characters, Darshan has established himself as one of Hindi cinema’s most dependable actors.
