Ajay Devgn: Overview

Ajay Devgn (born 2 April 1969) is an Indian film actor, director and producer who has worked predominantly in Hindi cinema. He made his acting debut in 1991 and gained early recognition for his performance in Phool Aur Kaante. Over a multi-decade career he has appeared in a wide range of films spanning action, drama and comedy, and has received national and industry awards for his performances.

Born into a film family—his father, Veeru Devgan, was an action director and his mother, Veena Devgan, worked in film production—Devgn established his own production and distribution company, Ajay Devgn FFilms. He has directed and produced several projects and is known for notable films such as Zakhm (for which he won a National Film Award), the Singham series, Drishyam (Hindi), Golmaal installments, and Tanhaji. He is married to fellow actor Kajol; the couple have two children. Devgn is based in Mumbai and continues to be an active figure in mainstream Bollywood cinema.
