Achu Rajamani: Overview

Achu Rajamani, born Arun Rajamani, is an Indian music composer, singer, and pianist from a renowned musical family. Born on 9 December 1990 in Chennai, he is the grandson of legendary Malayalam composer B. A. Chidambaranath and the son of veteran music director Rajamani. Initially aspiring to become a pilot, Achu eventually chose music and trained under celebrated composer M. M. Keeravani. He graduated from Loyola College, Chennai, before beginning his career as a keyboard programmer and background score arranger for hundreds of films. His breakthrough as an independent composer came with the Telugu film Nenu Meeku Telusa? (2008). Since then, he has composed music for several acclaimed films including Current Theega, Dynamite, Urumeen, Gaali Sampath, Month of Madhu, Tillu Square, and numerous Tamil and Telugu productions. Apart from composing, Achu has sung several hit songs across South Indian cinema and has briefly pursued professional racing. His versatility across composing, singing, and background scoring has established him as one of the notable contemporary music directors in South Indian cinema.
